Well located near London's Paddington Station and with parking available, St John's is the ideal venue for your next event. We are located in the heart of a quiet residential area of the Hyde Park Estate, thus offering a space with very little (if any) noticeable external noise intrusion. Our main church building has over 400 square metres of flexible floor space which can be arranged for dance, theatre in the round, performing arts, banquets or exhibitions. We also have over 200 chairs which can be used in cabaret or banquet configurations, or, in a theatre layout, there is space to seat up to 643 guests.

CONFERENCES, EVENTS and RECEPTIONS

We are well equipped for your next reception and for exhibitions to be displayed by your sponsors and participants. Our large windows down the length of the church on each side provide plenty of natural light, and adjustable electrical lighting is available, with numerous power outlets available throughout the building. We also have a modern underfloor heating system and well maintained toilets situated close to the entrance of the church. The side aisles in our main church building can also be used for displays or serving food or drink.

Concerts, recitals and rehearsals

St John’s is located in the heart of a quiet residential area of the Hyde Park Estate, thus offering a space with very little (if any) noticeable external noise intrusion. Our main church building offers a unique auditorium space in the heart of London, ideal for concert performances for all types of music, dance and theatre. We have over 400 square metres of completely flexible space with a high ceiling height (up to 18 metres in the central aisle) and a solid stone floor, all in a well maintained and internally modern church. We are equipped with a Yamaha C7 concert grand piano and a second grand piano, both available for your use by prior arrangement. In addition, we are proud of our fully-restored (2015) Hill, 3 manual, tracker action organ (1867) (“Betty”), which is also available by prior arrangement. We also have a fixed raised stage area of 100 square meters, which can be incorporated into a larger performance area for use by a full symphony orchestra or other similarly-sized ensemble. You can hire our Parish Hall to use as a “Green Room” for performers.

Meetings, Classes and Children’s Parties

Our Parish Hall has up to 80 square metres of useable floor space, and is well-lit with an adjacent kitchen and nearby toilets. The Parish Hall can also be divided in two if required, and has separate access from outside or the main church building (if booking the two areas for the same event).

Reserved parking is available in front of our main church building. Please call +44 (0)7944 434777 (or you can email us) if you are interested in using our car park on a regular basis. It can also be useful to book parking when hiring St John’s to hold an event (otherwise, it is available on a first-come, first-served basis).
