In the Neighbourhood
St John's is an active part of the “W2” community, a hugely diverse part of central London. As the parish church, we are there to serve everyone in the community, regardless of whether they or not they come to St John’s.
The Hyde Park Estate
St John's is located in the middle of the Hyde Park Estate, which is owned by the Church Commissioners for England. Connaught Village is also part of the Hyde Park Estate. We have good relations with the Hyde Park Estate Association (HPEA), the residents assocation for the Hyde Park Estate, and we work closely with local businesses and the local council.
ST JAMES AND ST JOHN C.E. PRIMARY SCHOOL
St James and St John is a local Church of England Primary School, for which St John's shares responsibility with the neighbouring St James', Sussex Gardens. The St James and St John’s community is a microcosm of our multicultural society benefiting a the diversity of faiths and backgrounds.
RECKLESS GIVING
St John's has partnered with Reckless Giving, an innovative approach to raising money for international, national and local charities, since 2013. The aim of Reckless Giving is to share joyfully what we have, and, since starting, it has raised more than £35,000 for charity.

Partner Churches
The Church of the Heavenly Rest (New York)
People are regularly travelling between New York and London. We have developed a special friendship with The Church of the Heavenly Rest located on the Upper East Side of Manhattan, and regularly see members of their church here and in New York.

Changing Attitude
Changing Attitude works for the full inclusion of gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender people in the life of the Anglican Communion. We have been members of Changing Attitude and Inclusive Church for over 10 years.
Affirming Catholicism
Affirming Catholicism is a movement of inspiration and hope in the Anglican Communion, seeking to bring together and strengthen lay and ordained people who recognise the positive, inclusive and joyful currents in the catholic tradition of Christianity.
Diverse Church
Diverse Church is a supportive community of over 300 young LGBT+ Christians in UK evangelical churches. We aim to be a pastoral/mission resource for the wider church, so that young LGBT+ people do not give up on God or life.
Inclusive Church
We are signatories to the Inclusive Church statement that we will not discriminate on any level on grounds of economic power, gender, mental health, physical ability, race or sexuality and that we will welcome and serve all people in the name of Jesus Christ.
